An afternoon dedicated to “Learning spaces, resources and practices” on January 20, 2020

Are you a professor, professor-researcher or curriculum developer? Would you like to develop your teaching skills? The Université de Lyon is launching a series of meetings: “Mondays dedicated to teaching in higher education”, whose introductory afternoon will focus on “Learning spaces, resources and practices”.


At a time when learning and working spaces are rapidly changing (mobile classrooms, digital environments, etc.), the Université de Lyon's Educational Innovation inter-academic college group is organizing an afternoon of discussions focusing on “Learning spaces, resources and practices”. All professors, professor-researchers, curriculum developers and teaching assistants who are interested in the subject are invited to take part.


The “Learning spaces, resources and practices” afternoon will take place on Monday January 20, 2020, from 1 PM to 5:30 PM at the MILC (International Language and Culture Centre) Auditorium, 35 Rue Raulin, 69007 Lyon.

  • 12:45 PM – 1:15 PM: Welcome / Coffee
  • 1:15 PM – 1:30 PM: Opening speech presented by Stéphane Simonian, from the Université Lyon 2, and Marianne Alex, from the École Centrale de Lyon's Learning Lab.
  • 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: A lecture will be given by Denis Gillet, Professor-researcher at the EPFL – École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne
    “Encouraging the use of agile digital tools in traditional training facilities and scenarios: Examples of combined digital and physical interactions in auditoriums and virtual environments, to help support design thinking activities”
  • 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Participatory workshops
    WORKSHOP 1: Digital environments, mobile classrooms, fablabs, etc.: innovative teaching and learning environments
    WORKSHOP 2: Mixed learning - Face-to-face and/or online courses: setting up and adapting training facilities
    WORKSHOP 3: Co-built training facilities, informal learning spaces
  • 4 PM – 5 PM: Workshop feedback and an overview of the day’s discussions by Denis Gillet
  • 5 PM – 5:15 PM: Closing
